Apocalypse: It's all for sale! - ARENA …. of young arts 2012
The end of the world emerges, the apocalypse is approaching: Economy falters, polar bears have to swim, tsunamis and earthquakes set atomic society into danger and the year 2012 is the end of the old mayan calender.
Has the earth been constructed as a product with the plan to lapse? Is there possibly an update to help us out? Or did human beings simply not understand the instruction manual? Is there no way out or do we just have to look a bit less away?
What is going to happen, when those predictions are going to come real? Do I need an ark? Where is Noah? And what's happening at the Wall Street?
Buying or selling? What is to be done? Should I buy survival support during apocalypse closing sale? Can I ensure getting into paradise by joining the church? Can a daisy rescue me? And where are the yellow angels, if you really need them?
Everything for sale! The closing sale has begun, hunt out is opened because stinginess is salacious and we affect the prize. One thing is clear: the apocalypse creates new dimensions – with or without flat-screen.
But who is documenting, while we try to arm ourselves with stockpiling. Is there going to be a live-ticker on N24? Is „BILD“ going to write: „Apocalypse rider captured – referee Salesch is going to judge!“ Is „DER SPIEGEL“ going to call for an assigned counsel?
Is humanity with all it's idyll at an abyss? Or is there going to be a new free space instead? Will we breakfast a bit more of future or is everything going to be normal again?
And while we ask all these questions, somebody may experience his or her own apocalypse...
Everything for sale! We are searching for motivated artists from all over the world, who are willing to – once more - give all their strength, before the apocalypse arises. ARENA… of young arts is looking forward to applications of groups of artists from theatre, dance and performance.
The artists are asked to create the atmosphere of the festival actively and response spontaneously to the circumstances they find here. The festival gives room for different art forms. ARENA is opened for building art, film, music, literatur and audio-art.
